Dear Gustavo,I hope this email finds you well. My name is José V - I am sitting the CPE in three weeks' time, so I was wondering if you could have a look at my writing task. Massive thanks for your hard work; I have been following your website for a while now and, in all honesty, it is a treasure trove of fantastic materials!
Kind regards,

The Financial cost of Stress
It is an
indisputable fact that stress has become a prominent issue in present-day
society. People from different demographics claim to suffer from mental unrest
on a daily basis; a state of affairs that has led organisations to realise the
importance of dealing with it. The two texts discuss the intricacies of the
problem alongside some ways in which it can be combatted. (Would prefer a different verb)
The first text
explores the negative effects stress can have on businesses – affecting both
employees and, ultimately, the companies themselves. The author argues that
stress can cause a wide range of ailments amongst the workforce, resulting in
financial losses. Employers are urged to become better informed of
psychological issues to tackle them more effectively. While I wholeheartedly
agree that there should be more emphasis placed on mental illnesses, I believe
that attention should be diverted from mere financial matters. Instead, we
should investigate the reasons why employees suffer from such problems in an
ambience that should, at least on principle, be harmless.
In the second
text, the writer fervently emphasises the benefits of opening up about stress
and other mental issues. (Is stress a "mental issue"?) Readers are encouraged to explore avenues to
ameliorate their well-being; likewise, we are reminded that there is nothing
shameful about requesting assistance. Our appearance-obsessed society is
configured in such a way that even the slightest whiff of psychological
introspection is bound to raise eyebrows – this text, however, hammers
interesting points home and reminds us that our emotional stability must be
prioritised.
All things
considered, both texts raise interesting subjects and urge readers to reflect
on a still largely overlooked situation. Be it for the sake of commercial or
personal growth, it is imperative that institutions strive to normalise the
existence of psychological disorders. Once the stigma has been lifted, we will
finally be able to walk hand in hand towards a better future.
