Essay on Youth Culture

The term ‘youth culture’ found its name in the 1960s. Young people changed their views on several aspects of daily life. There are also people who have tried to figure out what ‘youth culture’ involves. Both texts emphasizes style and innovations.

Text one states that the switch among people started with a few rebellions in the 1960s. Appreciating new music, arts, clothing styles and political views were part of the alteration at the time. Besides the contempt, this ever growing group was determined to maintain and extend their habits. The second text gives arguments about what have caused ‘youth culture’. The author mentions that a certain group of young people were manipulated by the availability of what is on the market. Simultaneously, others have tried to depict the financial and social circumstances of their environment.

In my opinion, we have to respect everyone whatever their political colours, habits and styles are. To be honest, people should encourage those who other people to dare to step out their comfort zone. Most of the time it are is young people who come up with new ideas. They are open-minded and a reflection of a particular period. Thereby, we should keep in account the social and economic background where they live in. This has a significant influence on their political ideas, creative minds and stylistic opportunities. (Consider revising. Not so sure what your point it. I suggest re-reading the last lines).

In conclusion, ‘youth culture’ is a term which started in the 1960s. Through the years young people envisage a quintessential period of that time. From my perspective, we should support them because they are innovative and therefore give colour to several aspects of our daily life.
